An education more than anything else. We were used to residential scale, and a building of this size was entirely out of our experience. This dates from a time when architects actually drew the buildings they designed rather than modeling them on a computer. It is interesting to see just how accurately the renderings describe the actual building.
This project was one of the best times I had working with my father. Prismacolor pencils and rolls of canary were delivered by the truckload. We were knee deep in tracing paper for weeks at a time, developing scheme after scheme.
